Patent Illustrator / CAD Drafter
What We Do
We create precise, USPTO-compliant line drawings from a variety of input sources including photographs, hand sketches, prototypes, and engineering drawings.
Details
Artistic creativity alone is not sufficient – accuracy and consistency are critical. This position requires highly detail-oriented work and is best suited for individuals with a mechanical aptitude and experience using CAD software.

- Work Location: In person. We will not be considering remote work.
Responsibilities
- Create high-quality patent illustrations from 2D and 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, photographs, and other reference materials.
- Interpret and convert photos, sketches, and engineering files into accurate technical drawings.
- Produce clean, professional black-and-white line art suitable for USPTO submission.
- Manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- Communicate with project managers regarding technical details and revisions.
- Maintain consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail across all work.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in both 2D and 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar programs).
- Ability to create and edit both 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
- Strong technical drawing or illustration skills, including the ability to create clean, precise line art.
- Location spatial visualization ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven production environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong ability to follow detailed written instructions and incorporate revision feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating patent illustrations.
- Experience converting 3D CAD models into accurate 2D technical drawings.
- Background in mechanical drafting, engineering technology, industrial design, manufacturing, or related technical fields.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and mechanical assemblies.
